Abstract
La articulación que cada cultura establece entre las formas particulares de conocimiento y el conjunto de reglas, técnicas de concepto y de producción de imágenes es lo que constituye el sujeto de la antropología del arte, como nos lo recordaba Carlo Severi (1991: 82). Teniendo en cuenta esto, el ars de las pinturas realizadas sobre papel amate de los indígenas nahuas del Balsas constituye el núcleo principal de esta tesis. Este trabajo está basado sobre las investigaciones antropológicas contemporáneas, a las que echaremos un breve vistazo.
